Pumping And Power Dashboard

This is a beta version of the Pump and Power Dashboard. It is best viewed on desktop or a laptop. We are working to optimize the page for mobile. Customers can test the dashboard and provide feedback to SWBNO via email at outreach@swbno.org. The page will continue to evolve as we add more capabilities and receive user feedback.

The major drainage pumps has been revised from 99 to 97. The two pumps located at DPS 17 are dry weather constant duty pumps. Stormwater drainage from the Gentilly area is served by DPS 19.

25Hz Power Generation Capacity

Our older drainage pumps require 25Hz power. The modern standard is 60Hz. Turbine 4, Turbine 5 and our EMDs (back-up generators) generate 25Hz power. We also have Frequency Changers that convert 60Hz power provided by Entergy to 25Hz. The graphic below shows how much 25Hz power we can currently generate with the sources available.

Full Pumping and Power Status

Major Drainage Pumps: 91 of 97 Major Drainage Pumps Available For Use

  • The major drainage pumps has been revised from 99 to 97. The two pumps located at DPS 17 are dry weather constant duty pumps. Stormwater drainage from the Gentilly area is served by DPS 19.
  • DPS 10 at Haynes Blvd. and Shubrick Ave. at Citrus Canal: No. 1 Pump out of service due to refurbishment of pump.
    • 3 additional drainage pumps available at this station
  • DPS 13 near Tall Timbers Algiers: No. 4 Pump on standby for emergency use only.
    • 5 additional drainage pumps available at this station + one constant duty pump
  • DPS 14 at Hayne Blvd and Jahncke Rd: No. 3 and No. 4 Pump out of service due to mechanical repairs
    • 2 additional drainage pumps available at this station
    • Drainage in this area can be addressed via DPS 10, DPS 16 and DPS Dwyer via the Morrison Canal
  • DPS 15 near Intracoastal Waterway and Industrial Pkwy: No. 1 Pump out of service due to repairs to a gearbox.
    • 2 additional drainage pumps available at this station
  • DPS 18 near Maxent Canal and Michoud Bayou: No. 1 Pump out of service due to mechanical repairs. A portable pump has been installed to provide temporary pumping capacity as needed.
    • 1 additional drainage pump available at this station

Underpass Stations:

At Old Carrollton Underpass Station, #1 pump out of service. There are two additional pumps available. A temporary pump has been deployed.

All other underpass pumps are in service.

  • Frequency Changer #3 at Algiers Water Treatment Facility available for use.

Frequency changers convert modern 60Hz power generated by T6 and Entergy into the 25Hz power.
