On Tuesday, September 22nd, 2026, Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans (SWBNO) crews will be performing a closure which will temporarily disrupt your water services to facilitate valve repairs. You may experience low or no water pressure during the test closure for approximately 30-45 minutes. Water is scheduled to be turned back on immediately after confirming the water main was successfully isolated.
WHEN: Tuesday, September 22nd, 2026, beginning at 8:30AM you may experience low or no water pressure for approximately 30-45 minutes.

When water is restored, run your faucets for 5 minutes to flush out the lines before resuming regular use.
If water is not restored within one hour after end time, please contact us at the email/phone number below.
Gauges will be placed and monitored by a SWBNO crew during the water valve closure. The procedure will be aborted, and the closure opened immediately if there are any unacceptable pressure losses during the closure or if any pressure gauge readings fall to 30psi. If you are outside of the expected impact area and experience low or no water pressure to report a water or sewer emergency anytime – call 504-52-WATER, choose your language option and press 1 for emergency.
