Traffic Advisory: Temporary Street Closures in the French Quarter

New Orleans, La - The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans (SWBNO) contractor, Boh Bros Construction, is scheduled to make multiple water main repairs in the French Quarter neighborhood. The contractor will be executing street closures to facilitate repairs. The closure information and sequencing are provided below.

Signage and traffic control measures such as barrels and fencing are onsite to direct drivers and pedestrians.

Tuesday 12/31/24 - Thursday 1/2/25 Work Phase:

  • Location: 942 N Rampart St 
  • Work Schedule: The 1000 block of St Philip St will be closed on Tuesday 12/31 in order to permit crews to repair a water line. If crews do not complete the repair in one day, they will install a steel plate over the repair in order to open the street at the close of business Tuesday 12/31/24 and all day Wednesday 1/1/25. Crews will resume working Thursday 1/2/25 to complete the repair, if needed. 
  • Traffic Impact: Traffic on St Philip St from N Rampart St to Burgundy St will be closed to through traffic.

Thursday 1/2/25 - Friday 1/3/25 Work Phase: 

  • Location: 905 Dauphine St
  • Work Schedule: The 900 block of Dauphine St will be closed on Thursday 1/2/25 in order to permit crews to repair a water line. If crews do not complete the repair in one day, they will extend the closure to Friday 1/3/25 to finish the repair.
  • Traffic Impact: Traffic on Dauphine St from St Philip St to Dumaine St will be closed to through traffic.
