SWBNO Launches New Online Customer Account Platform, Giving Smart Meter Customers Access to Water Use Data

New Orleans, LA – The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans (SWBNO) is excited to announce the launch of a new online account platform designed to enhance account management for all customers. This upgrade is part of SWBNO’s commitment to improving customer service, empowering customers to take charge of their water use, and offering greater flexibility in managing water bills. Paired with the utility’s Smart Metering Program, the platform provides customers with near real-time data and more convenient account management features.

"This new online platform is a significant step toward restoring trust with our customers," said SWBNO Executive Director Ghassan Korban. "Giving customers real-time access to their water use data helps them understand their consumption and manage their budgets. This transparency ensures our customers' bills are accurate and consistent." 

Important: Customer Action Needed

The new online account platform is now open for registration. To access billing and payment features, all customers— including those who previously had an online account—must activate their new accounts. To protect customer information, SWBNO did not transfer any payment information or preferences. Customers will need to re-enable payment features after activating their accounts.

How to Activate Your New Account

Customers can set up their new accounts by visiting myaccount.swbno.org and entering the following details:

  • Account number
  • Last name or company name (as listed on the bill)
  • Service address (property number only)
  • Preferred email address

Customers can create new usernames and passwords that do not need to match previous login credentials.

Community Support and Engagement

SWBNO's Customer Service Center is ready to support customers in navigating the new system. For assistance with the new online account platform, please call 52-WATER.

SWBNO also plans to host community events throughout New Orleans in early 2025. These meetings will provide customers with an opportunity to learn more about the platform, ask questions, and receive assistance in setting up accounts.
