Water Valve Closure and Traffic Advisory

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA — Beginning on Sunday, December 11, 2022, a water closure is required in order to make repairs to a 6” water main on Willow St. from Felicity to Erato St. The water closure will begin at 8 a.m., Sunday, December 11, 2022. Water valves are expected to be closed until 12 p.m. on Sunday, December 11th. In order to facilitate repairs Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans’ (SWBNO) crews will temporarily close one lane of Riverbound traffic on Willow (Felicity and Erato) with repair work and road restoration taking about 4 hours.
This closure is required for a repair to a 6” water main that runs along Willow St.
Gauges will be placed and monitored by a SWBNO crew during the valve closure. The procedure will be aborted, and the closure opened immediately if there are any unacceptable pressure losses during the closure or if any pressure gauge readings fall to 30 psi.
