We’re Improving Your Water System – Upcoming SWBNO Work

New Orleans – On Friday, Feb. 19, 2021 and Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021, the Sewerage and Water Board will begin making repairs which may cause an interruption to water service in limited areas. Please see below for locations.

Carrollton Avenue and Palm Street

On Friday, Feb. 19, 2021 from 10 p.m. – 4 a.m. the following morning, Sewerage and Water Board will repair two water main valves on the corner of Carrollton Avenue and Palm Street. Residents and businesses in the area may experience low to no water pressure while the repair is underway.

Loyola Avenue and Jefferson Avenue

On Friday ,Feb. 19,2021 from 1 p.m. to 3p.m., the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans will perform a test valve closure ahead of a planned water line repair on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021. The test closure involves closing water valves on the water main and monitoring any potential impact on water pressure.

During both the test closure and planned work, the following areas will experience a disruption in water service and/or low water pressure: Loyola (Soniat St. to Nashville Ave.) Dufossat Street (Loyola to St. Charles Ave.).

What Residents Should Do

Should you experience low pressure during this work, we advise you to find an alternate water source or boil water before using. Once the repair is complete and pressure has returned, please run faucets for 5 minutes to flush pipes before resuming normal use.
