For Immediate Release: Sunday, January 16, 2022 1:01 PM

UPDATE:

As of noon on Monday, January 17, crews reversed emergency water main closures after the upper floors of a medical facility lost water pressure.  Pressure has been fully restored. We are exploring alternative ways to isolate the damaged water main for repair; stay tuned for updates.

As always, if you experience low or no water pressure, call our Emergency Call Center at 504-52-WATER.

ORIGINAL RELEASE:

Monday, January 17, Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans (SWBNO) crews, in partnership with Boh Bros. Construction, will be performing an emergency water line repair in the 8100 block of Panola between S. Carrollton Ave. and Dublin beginning around 9 a.m.

The repair involves closing down a 48” water main that supplements the water supply to the Carrollton, Fontainebleau, and Uptown neighborhoods resulting in the potential of lower-than-normal water pressure. (Map of the potential impact area is here.

Upper floors of multi-story buildings will potentially see the most impact. Crews will be proactively monitoring water pressure throughout the city. If pressures begin to dip significantly, crews will be ready to respond and reverse the closure.

This closure was originally scheduled for February 7, 2022, but due to the severity of leak and the location, this repair has become an emergency. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we work to improve your water system.

Customers who are experiencing low or no water pressure should always call our Emergency Call Center at 504-52-WATER; we are open 24/7 to serve you.
