Emergency Water Main Repair on S. Claiborne Avenue Between Poydras and Perdido

An emergency repair to a 30-inch water main Thursday, Nov. 7, will cause the closure of eastbound South Claiborne Avenue between Poydras and Perdido streets.
Water service in the area is not expected to be impacted.
Wallace C. Drennan Inc., a contractor working for the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans (SWBNO), is conducting the repair. It is expected to be completed by the early evening, barring any unforeseen developments.
Eastbound traffic will be diverted at Poydras. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
